The focus of Duke-NUS is to help develop the next generation of physician-scientists. The school is a joint collaboration between Duke University and the National University of Singapore(NUS). Duke-NUS employs the curriculum developed at the Duke University School of Medicine. This unique curriculum includes a full year devoted to independent research and is well known for its leadership in training physician-scientists. Although open to all students, the school is also targeting outstanding international students from Asia who, because of US citizenship requirements, may find it difficult to gain admission to most US med schools. They think students will be excited with the career and research opportunities that Singapore can offer, given Singapore’s commitment to being a leading biomedical hub in Asia.
